“Ciao!” - A short film, proof of concept, by Allie Arasi

Logline: Allie, our Italian-American, big nosed, ingenue is, for lack of a better phrase, "up shit creek", when she flys her Sicilian lover across the world to spend Thanksgiving with her family in a small town in Georgia, because the second he lands on American soil, she realizes he's not the hottie she remembers from her summer abroad on the romantic beaches of Taormina. As if that's not awkward enough, Allie's family, having just lost their beloved Sicilian Matriarch to cancer, fall in love with him before Allie can inform them of this "icky" epiphany, so for the sake of her family, she must try and force a connection. It's an absurd, yet, unfortunately honest, take on the true story of my love affair abroad and how it went so very wrong... oh and did I mention awkward. It has similar tones to Fleabag and Modern Family.
